Dance of Forgiveness

IONA is an active participant in community and non-profit affairs throughout Hawai'i. Dancers, designers, choreographers and organizers give generously of their time. These special performances entertain and delight every audience, and add meaning and social responsibility to Iona's art.

In August 2005, Cheryl Flaharty designed a special ceremonial dance, to involve the 400 participants in the annual Forgiveness Day celebration. IONA's dance brought the whole audience into a wordless, breathless state, where forgiveness is possible.

The event is held in Honolulu and is one of the largest of 85 such celebrations worldwide; for more infomation, see http://www.hawaiiforgivenessproject.org
